Welding processes Arc welding

  • Welding :- is a process of adjoining two or more similar or disimilar workpiece( metal and non-metal) with the application of heat and pressure.

वेल्डिंग :-  वह क्रिया है जिसमे दो या दो से अधिक समान और अलग प्रकार के Material ताप व दब की मदद जोड़े जाते है।

Types of Welding
1. Fusion      = only depend on heat
2.Pressure   = depend on pressure with heat

Basic classifications
1.Arc welding
2.Gas welding
3.Solid  welding
Arc Welding
is a process of joining ot two metals with the application of heat under the shield of noble gases that prevent from atmospheric defects .
In the arc welding , Heat is generated ny arc .Arc is produced  between Electrode and work.In order to produce  arc between work and electrode potential diffrence (v) should be sufficient to allow them to move across air gap.
The larger air gap requires, higher will be potential diffrence
Arc welding is the oldest welding process

Arc welding is the simplest form of welding in which we used one  consumable electrode ,workpiece, electric supply (Ac & Dc ),electrode holder(that hold electrode) , conmecting wires to make a permanent joint.
Note:  – for better weld joint we prefer Dc polarity.

process to do arc welding >> For doing welding you need clean surface ,firstly remove dust and other unwanted rust when surface of both ends of work is cleared then connect it to power supply and also connect electrode to power supply to generation of arc, after this move electrode near to worpiece where you want to do joint and maintain a gap of 2-5 mm and arc will be generated and move electrode continuosly in the direction where the joint is to be needed.

Types of arc welding

1.CARBON ARC WELDING
2.PLASMA ARC WELDING
3.SUBMERGED ARC WELDING
4.TIG WELDING
5.MIG WELDING
6.SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING
7.ELECTRO-SLAG ARC WELDING
CARBON ARC WELDING :- Is the oldest welding or we can say thIs is the first type of welding was in use. In this Welding Having non-consumable electrode provide fillar metal to fill the joint and same process like  above .
In which positive terminal is connected to workpiece and negative connected to electrode.
Positive terminal =workpiece =4000°c
Negative terminal = electrode =3000°c
